Notices to EPA, NTDC in Matiari project case.

LAHORE -- The Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to Punjab Environment Protection Agency (EPA), National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) and other respondents on a petition challenging 660 KV Matiari Transmission Line project.

Petitioner Ayesha Warsi mainly contends that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has not been carried out before the launch of the impugned project.

Petitioner's counsel Amina Warsi argued before the court that the NTDC was the project proponent and the sole government agency, incorporated for carrying out the exclusive transmission business under transmission licence.
