Notices to 16 schools for defying winter break.

MUZAFFARGARH -- The district administration has issued show-cause notices to 16 schools for continuing their classes during winter break.

Deputy Commissioner Engineer Amjad Shoaib Tareen told Dawn that he received many complaints that some private and PEF schools were open in extremely cold weather.

He said he, along with Chief Executive Officer (Education) Masood Nadeem, conducted field visits and found six schools open at Jatoi and Alipur tehsils and 10 at Muzaffargarh and Kot Addu tehsils.

The DC sent show-cause notices to the owners of these private school owners and asked the CEO to take action against them.

Mr Nadeem said he had sent letters to the PEF for cancellation of registration of these schools.

Meanwhile, the DC said he had also received complaints about the revenue department that had failed to computerise 20 mauzas.
