No woman DEO for a year to cater to over 5,000 teachers, workers.

OKARA -- The post of the woman district education officer (DEO) has been lying vacant for over a year and more than 4,000 teachers and 1,500 women employees of the district are helpless in getting their daily office-related issues resolved.

On an average, 400 women employees visited the district education office daily to seek solutions to their job-related problems.

The district education authority (DEA) had given additional charge of the post to Dr Khadim Hussain, the district officer (elementary education), who could not visit the female office much due to the responsibilities of his original post.

The employees of the district education office (female) had to face visiting teachers and other junior employees daily who visited the office from all three tehsils of the district.

The employees have demanded the school education department, DEA and Deputy Commissioner Maryam Khan to look into the matter on priority keeping in view the problems they were facing.

Furthermore, the female wing of the district education office's elementary education section was constructed...
