No shortage of flour, sugar in Dir: official.

TIMERGARA -- Lower Dir district food controller Abu Bakar Mehmood said on Thursday that 6,000 subsidised flour bags were being distributed among the local residents in the bazaar daily.

Talking to traders and mediapersons during his visit to various markets here, he said that sufficient stock of wheat, sugar and ghee was available in the district. He said that there had been no shortage of flour and sugar in the district.

The food department, he said, had been monitoring the process of flour distribution. The food controller warned the traders of legal action in case of any irregularity in flour distribution.

The official also inspected warehouses of wholesale dealers in Timergara and found that Punjab flour was available at Rs1,850 to Rs1,900 per 49 kg, sugar at Rs3,900 to Rs3,920 per 50kg and local ghee at Rs820 per 5 kg.
