No one is above the law: Babar Awan.

ISLAMABAD -- Adviser to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Zaheeruddin Babar Awan has said that no one is above the law.

Responding to points raised by the Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla in Senate on Friday, the Adviser said that this house has the authority to summon anybody here.

Babar Awan said that everyone should respect the state institutions and appear before the courts to prove their innocence. The adviser said that government is working to introduce reforms in state institutions.

Meanwhile, Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan has said tenders will soon be opened for twenty new oil and gas exploration blocks in order to cope with the energy requirements.

Winding up discussion on gas and power crisis in the Senate today, he regretted that the previous governments did not pay attention to explore new wells.
