No housing scheme to be tolerated in prohibited zone.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Dr Muhammad Zahid Ikram warned that no housing scheme should be established in the prohibited zone and said concrete departmental strategy was being followed for getting the land use rules implemented in letter and spirit.

He was inspecting the prohibited zone on Narwala Road on Thursday. He also visited Chak 58-JB and Chak 61-JB and checked the zone plan. He expressed his displeasure over some constructions for establishing illegal housing schemes and directed that the structures of illegal housing schemes in prohibited areas within the jurisdiction of the FDA be completely removed and legal action be taken against the violators.

He stressed carrying out effective and regular monitoring to check the enforcement of land use rules and warned that any negligence, lethargy, irresponsibility, or convenience would not be tolerated, and departmental actions would be taken against the staff having poor performance in this regard.

He requested that land developers obtain complete information about the zoning plan before planning housing schemes and that no housing scheme be planned in a prohibited zone because such a scheme could not be approved.

He sensitised the general public about investment in real estate and said that the legal status of any housing scheme is checked before purchasing plots to avoid any fraud.
