NIH team visits affected locality.

RAHIM YAR KHAN -- Three National Institute of Health (NIH) experts arrived in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday on the instruction of the National Command and Operations Centre for epidemiological examination and sampling of viral and bacterial infections from the affected members of the Basti Behram Laghari family.

Dr Liaqat Ali Chohan, district health officer, told Dawn that the team, which included Dr Saifur Rehman, Dr Hamza, and Research Officer Ashfaq Ahmed, also took samples from animals to look for the presence of any zoonotic illness.

The team also went into houses, quizzed relatives of the deceased about their meals, and acquired information about cattle and pets.
