Newly-wed man among three shot dead in city.

KARACHI -- Three men, including a newly-wed, were shot dead in separate incidents in the city on Saturday, police said.

The Awami Colony police said that Muzammil Munawar, 24, was killed near Usman Shah Mazar in Korangi-5.

Korangi-SSP Sajid Amir Sadozai, quoting the victim's relatives, said that Muzammil had tied the knot around a month ago. He said his wife had got divorce from her first husband to marry him and her relatives opposed the matrimony.

He said apparently the murder was linked with this issue.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfill medico-legal formalities.

Earlier on Saturday, the body of an unidentified man, who was in his early 30s, was found near a restaurant in Baldia Town No 1.

The body was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors said he was shot multiple times.
