Newly-built Shangla schools await teachers.

SHANGLA -- Residents have demanded appointment of teachers to the six schools built in various parts of the Shangla district over a year ago.

Most government schools in the district have been facing space issue for long, and the new schools were built to accommodate the growing number of students. But teachers are yet to be appointed to these schools.

Abid Khan, a resident of Bisham tehsil, said his children were enrolled in a primary school in Bisham Bazaar, which was overcrowded. He said the locals had donated their lands for construction of a school near their houses, but it had been awaiting teachers' posting since its completion.

Mohammad Waseem of Pagorai area said a high school was built in their area, but it could not be made functional as no teachers were appointed there. He said the locals had approached the education department to make the high school functional by appointing teachers to it, but to no...
