A neglected city.

Karachi does not receive the love, attention and revenue it gives to the people at large and, indeed, to the federal government. Its crumbling infrastructure surrounded by filth and sewage speaks of official negligence and apathy.

The city government must be empowered to look after all residential, commercial and industrial areas. The only exception should be cantonment areas that have defence installations and housing for the related personnel.

A vast area currently administered by the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) should also be placed under the city government as a sizable proportion of the residents are civilians.
