NCOC grants permission to start parliamentary activities.

ISLAMABAD -- The Ministry of Parliamentary Affair has received permission from National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to start parliamentary activities including National Assembly session following observing proper SOPs due to severe second wave of Coronavirus [COVID-19].

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has asked the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to ensure SOPs before summoning the National Assembly session, said parliamentary sources.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, around a week before, had sought advice of the NCOC for holding the National Assembly Session in wake of Coronavirus [COVID-19] pandemic.

The advice was sought from NCOC through the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs vide a letter addressed to Secretary Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. The purpose of taking opinion was to seek way out to call a session of the National Assembly as the lower house has to fulfill its mandatory 130 days in the 3rd Parliamentary year of the current National Assembly.
