Nawaz platelets count improves.

LAHORE -- Despite some improvement in his platelets, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif needs aggressive management, says his personal physician Dr Adnan Khan.

'Despite all efforts Mr. Sharif's underlying diseases and the treatment itself leads to complicated clinical consequences with significantly unstable critical health status. Nawaz Sharif remains under treatment in intensive care setting, requiring aggressive management,' Dr Khan said on Friday in a tweet.

Mr Sharif's platelets on Friday increased from 51,000 to 55,000. 'Mr Sharif continues on life saving doses of Steroids and Eltrombopag (Revolade; thrombopoietin receptor agonist) to achieve a platelet

count safe for maintenance of coronary/carotid circulation (avoiding heart attack and stroke) and also to avoid spontaneous bleeding,' he said.
