NADRA Introduces One-Window Passport Facility.

ISLAMABAD -- The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is set to launch one-window passport counters at its offices in 30 tehsils across the country, following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as per a notification issued on Sunday.

In a meeting chaired by PM Shehbaz in Islamabad on March 1, he emphasized the need to simplify the process of obtaining CNICs and passports for citizens. He directed the establishment of passport counters at NADRA offices, specifying that all approved projects for passport offices should be integrated into existing NADRA offices.

The "passport counter" facility will be provided only in those tehsils or sub-tehsils where there is no dedicated passport office.

According to the details, passport counters will be set up at NADRA offices in various areas, including 12 small cities in the Lahore region, 2 in the Karachi region, 6 in Multan, 2 in Sargodha, 4 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 2 in Islamabad.

During a press conference in Rawalpindi, Director General Passport Yawar Hussain stated that the one-window passport counters at NADRA offices will be managed by the Passport and Immigration Department. He added that these special counters aim to facilitate citizens and streamline the passport application process.
