NAB to file 2 corruption references, 8 inquiries.

ISLAMABAD -- The Executive Board Meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday accorded approval of filing two corruption references against various persons as well as eight inquiries against various persons including PML-N key leader and opposition leader in the National Assembly Mian Shehbaz Sharif.

According to details, the NAB board which met under the chairmanship of Justice A(r) Javed Iqbal decided to file two corruption references against former Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and others on the allegations of allotting two cancelled commercial plots by abusing authority which inflicted Rs 200 million losses to national exchequer.

The EBM also accorded approval of filing corruption reference against Liaquat Ali Khan, former Director General Parks and Horticulture, Karachi Municipal Corporation, and others on the accusations of allotting a plot reserved for welfare activities to illegally which inflicted heavy losses to national exchequer.

It also accorded approval of conducting eight inquiries against various personalities including against Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, former Chief Minister Punjab, and others, Riaz Lal Gee and others, Ali Sher Mehsud former member NHA, and others, Malik Ahmed Khan, CEO, Public Private Partnership Authority and others, officers/officials of Rawalpindi Development Authority, Asadullah Faiz, Joint Secretary Ministry, Health Ministry, officers/ officials of Small Dams Organisation and others, Management and others of National Food Security and Research, an investigation against the officers/ officials of CDA.

The EBM reviewed the closure of Roosevelt Hotel, USA, after hundred years and it was decided to review the TROs of a committee which was constituted by the government as per law.

The EBM decided to send the issue of investigations against officers and officials and others of NADRA to Interior Ministry for further action.

The EBM accorded approval of sending the investigations against two cases to CDA in accordance with the law.
