NA committee on climate change inquires govt policy on hunting birds in country.

ISLAMABAD -- The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Climate Change on Thursday inquired government policy on hunting of sword and other birds in the country.

Meeting of the Standing Committee on Climate Change was held here under the chair of Member National Assembly (MNA) Munaza Hassan. Discussing the issues on agenda, the committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 31st December, 2020.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change Johdat Ayaz appeared before the Committee and tendered his apologies for the misconduct done in previous meeting.

The committee considered his apology and unanimously decided to forgive his act of misconduct.

Then, the committee directed Ministry of Climate Change to start its briefing on Paris Agreement. The departmental representative apprised the Committee that Paris Agreement was executed in 1974. In beginning 197 countries were signed this agreement.

This agreement was about to reduce the global warming situation around the world and all the member countries jointly decided to convene one meeting every year.

In this year, Pakistan will have to submit its report to UNFF in November for the situation of smoke emission in atmosphere of the country.

She said that we have to take all our provinces on board in this regard, so that, we could jointly make struggle for reduction of emission in atmosphere.

The representative further brief the Committee that on CBU, Government of Pakistan is being provided 25 percent subsidy.
