N-5 from Rawat to Kutchery Chowk named as Potohar Avenue.

RAWALPINDI -- Grand Trunk Road from Rawat T-Chowk to Kutchery Chowk has been renamed as Potohar Avenue.

Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha presided over a meeting to review steps taken for uplift of Potohar Avenue.

Director Development Nazia Sudhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Nabil Ali and other senior officials attended the meeting.

The commissioner said according to the notification of the National Highway Authority, G.T Road

N-5 Section from Rawat T-Chowk to Kutchery Chowk has been named as Potohar Avenue.

He said that Potohar Avenue will be uplifted in such a way that the people coming here feel a clear and pleasant change.

He further said that the peri-urban union councils of district Rawalpindi and the area of Soan River bridge till Toyota Company showroom came under the administrative control of Rawalpindi district.

He said that the district administration had been instructed to give special attention to cleanliness and traffic management along with the elimination of encroachments.
