Munir Akram presents credentials to UN Chief.

NEW YORK -- Munir Akram, the newly-appointed Permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations (UN), presented his credentials to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday.

The presenting credentials ceremony of new permanent representative was held at the UN Headquarters in New York, where UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres received the certificate from Munir Akram.

On the occasion, Antonio Guterres has said that Pakistan is an important member of the UN, it is delighted to welcome the new ambassador.

Munir Akram served in the same capacity from 2002 to 2008, having been the country's Permanent Representative to the United Nations European Office in Geneva from 1995 to 2002.
