MQM LB leadership threatens to protest if its legal share of OZT not paid.

HYDERABAD -- MQM leadership including elected national and Sindh assemblies and Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have taken exception to non -payment of due share of Octroi tax and Zila tax by Sindh government due to which salaries of employees are paid leaving nothing behind for development and other works. Addressing news conference at press club here Monday MQM- Pakistan MNAs Sabir Qaimkhani, Salahuddin, MPAs Rashid Khilji, Nadeem Siddiqui and Nadir Qureshi, HMC mayor Syed Wasim Hussain, deputy mayor Syed Sohail Mashhadi and other office bearers of MQM-P told newsmen that they were paid Rs.93.5 millions out of OZT share of Rs.162.8 towards Sindh government. They said amount as above received by them hardly has sufficed for salaries, pensions etc to local bodies employees. They told that Sindh government called a meeting of governing body of Hyderabad Development Authority (H.D.A) in Karachi chaired by local bodies minister Syed Nasir Shah on 26 January 2020 for which H.D.A officers and workers of ruling PPP were invited who attended the meeting but city Mayor , national and provincial assemblies members, city mayor and other elected representatives of local bodies of Hyderabad were not invited.
