MQM-L advocate remanded in judicial custody.

HYDERABAD -- An antiterrorism court judge on Tuesday remanded Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) activist Shakeel Zai advocate for three days in judicial custody in a sedition case lodged by A-Section police in Latifabad.

His bail application would be taken up for hearing on Wednesday. Zai's co-accused, Abdul Majeed Khan, was also produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody.

A large number of lawyers also reached the court to express solidarity with Zai.

The investigating officer sought police custody of the accused, but Zai's lawyers opposed his request.

The court remanded Zai and Khan in judicial custody and they were shifted to Nara prison.

The FIR was lodged against him for an offence committed on Jan 5 in a wedding hall where the accused raised anti-state slogans.
