MoU signed for 5,000 Google scholarships.

KARACHI -- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday witnessed the ceremony for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Sindh Information, Science and Technology Department and Tech Valley Pakistan for the Google Career Certification Scholarship Programme 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the MoU was signed for advancing Google scholarships to the students studying in government schools, youth, and transgender persons for receiving IT-based training or doing IT-based courses to enable them to earn a respectable livelihood.

Tech Valley Pakistan in collaboration with the Google has conducted early coding programmes in selected schools of the education department, in district South, wherein the children have been imparted IT skills, particularly early coding programme, and the training process was coordinated by the IS and T department.

As per details, Google would like to scale up this activity across Sindh. As a future course of action, Tech Valley Pakistan will commence with other programmes such as CS (computer science) First, Digital Google Garage, Be Internet Awesome, Google Cloud Solutions, and Project Management certifications for individuals, youth, and the working staff of the province.

Earlier, IS and T department of the provincial signed MoU with Tech Valley and Google Pakistan for offering various training courses to contribute to the human capital development in the areas of the technology sector.

Besides, Google has also shown its commitment to enhance the education sector's capacity in respect of education tools, teachers' training and certifications, empowering IT staff and transforming computer labs.
