More locust attacks likely from neighbouring countries: Fakhar Imam.

Islamabad -- Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Syed Fakhar Imam has said that more locust attacks from India, Iran, Africa and Oman are feared in the coming days.

He said this while talking to media persons in Islamabad on Friday.

Syed Fakhar Imam while appreciating efforts of the institutions for the eradication of locusts said an operation is underway to eradicate locusts in the affected areas.

He said that we are also in touch with international organizations for the eradication of locusts.

'We are increasing their ability to destroy the locusts, the federal minister said.

The food minister further said five helicopters of Pakistan Army are being used for spray in the affected areas.
