Mob sets suspect on fire in Orangi.

KARACHI -- In another incident of vigilante justice, an angry mob shot a suspected robber and then set him on fire after he shot at and wounded a citizen when he put up resistance to a robbery bid.

Police said that three robbers tried to snatch cash and other valuables from Azhar Farooq in Altaf Nagar, Sector-11 of Orangi Town, on early Tuesday morning.

As the citizen put up resistance, the robbers shot him, said Manghopir SHO Yasin Gujjar.

He said that the incident enraged area people who got hold of a suspect while his two accomplices managed to escape.

The mob gave him a beating, tied his both legs and set him on fire.

The SHO said a police patrol reached the scene and managed to rescue the suspect and shifted him to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

He said doctors said that he also suffered a bullet wound.
