Minorities convention backs Kashmir freedom movement.

LAHORE -- Leaders of various faiths have extended full support to the movement for liberation of Kashmir from India, demanding the international community force New Delhi to reverse its decision of revoking special status of the region.

Speaking at the All-Pakistan Minorities Convention held by the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) here on Wednesday, the leaders backed the Kashmiris' right to self-determination granted under various UN resolutions.

They condemned the worst human rights violations in the India-held Kashmir (IHK) and called for lifting the curfew and ending 80-day siege of the area. The convention highlighted the Indian brutalities in held Kashmir and sought suggestions from leaders of Hindu, Christian, Sikh and other religions on the situation that emerged after the Indian move to abrogate articles 370 and 35A in the disputed territory.
