Minor boy injured in rape bid dies in hospital in Lahore.

KASUR -- A 12-year-old boy who had suffered serious injuries for resisting a rape attempt at village Rasoolnagar died in a Lahore hospital on Saturday.

Ganda Singh police arrested 17-year-old suspect, a resident of the same village, and lodged a criminal case against him.

According to police, the suspect had molested the minor boy about two months back but the elders of the village reconciled both the families and the victim boy's parents did not report the incident to police.

On Thursday, the boy was found in a critical condition from the bamboo fields of Rasoolnagar. He had received a deep cut on the throat with a sharp-edged weapon by the suspect. He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors referred him to the Children's Hospital in Lahore.
