Minister LG lauds local bodies' role for best arrangements during Muharram.

PESHAWAR -- Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Faisal Amin Gandapur on Thursday eulogized the cooperation of the local bodies with the security agencies in the peaceful holding of Ashura Muharram and proper arrangements in and around the Imambargahs and Majalis processions.

He was presiding over a review meeting related to discussion on peaceful completion of Ashura Muharram and the arrangements of the municipalities at the Local Government Secretariat Peshawar.

Besides Secretary LG Syed Zaheerul Islam Shah, Secretary Local Council Board and Director General LG, heads of various TMAs, WSSCs, area development authorities also participated and presented their performance reports on sanitation, drainage and night lighting arrangements for Ashura Muharram.

The Local Government Minister lauded the performance of the local bodies of the whole province including the merged districts in this regard and expressed the hope that arrangements for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Independence Day will also be completed with the same spirit and enthusiasm.
