Minister calls for innovative approach towards higher studies.

PESHAWAR -- Provincial Caretaker Minister for Higher Education and Law retired Justice Irshad Qaisar has stressed the need for innovative approach towards higher studies to produce highly educated people and put the country on the path of development.

'In the past, our focus has been more on quantity. In the current scenario, quality must be improved as well as quantity,' she said while speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony to award certificates of appreciation to teachers, who completed quality assurance training organised by higher education department at Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar.

According to a press release issued on Monday, she said that higher education had a fundamental role in developing nations. She said that giving importance to higher education in backward provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was need of the hour.

The minister said that the training would not only increase professional skills of teachers but would also improve quality of education.

Speaking on the occasion, Higher Education Secretary Mohammad Daud Khan said that the steps being taken by the department to popularise the culture of quality yielded excellent results. He said that the purpose of the event was to encourage the teachers...
