Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN)

On behalf of the Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. I take this opportunity to underline that there are many shared values and principles between the work of the United Nations and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the ECO Science Foundation. The pursuit of United Nations in promoting sustainable development is in tandem with the ECO's mission to advance economic cooperation and regional integration amongst its Member Countries through adequate investments in Science, Technology and Innovation.

ECO Science Foundation as an intergovernmental organization and a specialized agency of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) with its 10-member states; Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan - serves as a technical arm of the ECO and pursues the goal of promoting Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) through its different programs with a vision to augment sustainable development and economic growth in the ECO region. Our Foundation has the vision to build the human capital among the Member States through transfer of technology, knowledge sharing and exchanges to bring socio-economic benefits to the ECO region. Since the inception of United Nations, the world has achieved dramatic progress in human development on all fronts. We have experienced significant and acrossthe- board progress in science and technology and in industrial revolution.

We are now embracing a new round of even more extensive and substantial scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. Globally, social productivity has been unprecedentedly unleashed and boosted. Mankind has never been so powerfully capable to overcome the difficulties we face and change the world we live in.

Over these years, the United Nations has made enormous positive contributions towards sustainable development in maintaining international peace and security, promoting cooperation among states and international development. However, still today, the world faces extremely complex challenges and requires global solutions, which can only be resolved through dialogue and cooperation.
