The world and the State of Palestine celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations. We in Palestine respect this mighty organization and the principles on which it was founded. There is no international organization that gives hope for a better reality like the United Nations, given its unique international character and the powers granted to it to achieve its goals. At a time when the attack by the Israeli occupation authority and the American administration on this international system and the decisions of international legitimacy intensifies, our Palestinian people's adherence to this organization increases, which represents a bastion of international law and multilateral relations in the world. The Palestinian people hold hope from the United Nations, the historical witness to their misfortune, to support their legitimate struggle for their freedom and independence, and we are still waiting for the United Nations to fulfill its full responsibility in achieving a peaceful settlement of the Palestine issue in accordance with international legitimacy. It is ironic that at the time when this organization was drafting its charter, and the international community adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Geneva Conventions, the Palestinian people were being robbed of all of their rights stipulated in those conventions. Ambassador of State of Palestine to Pakistan we have witnessed peoples liberating and states that are independent and join the United Nations one by one, and the issue of Palestine has remained an item on the organization's agenda, not because our people are reluctant to achieve their freedom and gain their independence. Their Compass on Liberation and Independence Despite the succession of tribulations and disappointments, we have created countries and raised societies in all parts of the world. But the historical injustice that was inflicted upon them has never stopped. Rather, it intensifies day after day, and our people remain steadfast in their land and in the Diaspora.

The Palestinian people have continued their legitimate struggle at all levels. At the international level, they have seized their natural position among nations. Through the Palestine Liberation Organization, we began attending the United Nations General Assembly as an observer in 1974 and we became an observer state in 2012 and we will continue to work to...
