Merged areas contractors demand clearance of dues.

PESHAWAR -- Contractors from tribal districts have expressed concern over the delay in disbursement of pending funds and demanded of the provincial government to ensure early payment of dues.

Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, president of all tribal contractors association Zahir Jan and general secretary Laiq Marjan said many contractors had completed their projects but the relevant departments were using delaying tactics in clearing their dues.

They said the delay in payment of dues had badly affected contractors due to financial crisis and they were unable to continue their activities. They said the reduction in rates of steel and bitumen had also caused them financial losses in the pending...
