Medics strike affecting anti-polio campaign.

SWABI -- The ongoing strike of doctors and paramedical staff has been affecting the anti-polio campaign and routine immunisation besides other health services.

Scores of parents told this correspondent on Friday that they had visited various government hospitals for immunisation of their children, but found the health units closed due to strike.

Zubair Ahmad, a resident of Maneri Bala village, said that he visited the DHQ Hospital and Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, several times for immunisation of his newborn nephew, but returned without his vaccination.

Similarly, several mothers visited the immunisation centres of government hospitals for vaccination of their children against various diseases, including polio, but could not get the required health care services.
