MCCI foils bid to smuggle smartphones.

RAWALPINDI -- A team of Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad (MCCI) conducted an operation at New Islamabad International Airport and foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,360 smart phones, 14 iPads and six play stations inside the country, informed sources here on Friday.

As many as seven passengers were also taken into custody by Customs department on charges of smuggling the smart phones and other items inside Pakistan illegally, they said.

The operation against the accused was supervised by Assistant Collector (AC) NIIAP Salik Mehmood Gondal, sources said.
