Maximum investment in education urged.

LAHORE -- Speakers at a World Education Day seminar urged world leaders to maximise educational investments for the development of future generations The University of Education organised the seminar on the main campus on Tuesday.

UE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Nasir Pasha presided over the ceremony, while Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Prof Dr Shahid Munir was the chief guest. Other guests included Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Examination Commission Tariq Iqbal, National Academy of Police Authority's Azhar Rashid, and others.

A message was read by Dr Charles Hopkins, chair of reorienting education towards sustainable development, UNESCO, in which he urged world leaders to invest in education on the occasion of Wthe orld Education Day.

Mr Pasha said that education is not just the name of teaching, but a process through which an individual or a nation gains self-awareness, education gives a person the awareness to live.
