Mansehra road in bad shape.

MANSEHRA -- The residents have complained about the dilapidated condition of the Mansehra-Basund Road and the traffic mess caused by it and demanded of the relevant authorities to re-carpet it without delay.

'This road which leads to district jail, police lines, industrial areas and dozens of towns and villages is in a highly dilapidated condition and mostly causes traffic blockade and inconvenience to motorists but district administration doesn't pay heeds to it since long,' Zulfiqar Khan told reporters on Friday.

A group of people from various villages and towns led by Mr Khan said that district administration should ensure an urgent re-carpeting of that main artery in order to provide them better civic services.

He said that that important artery destroyed all the way from Karakoram Highway to Basund but district administration didn't release funds for its re-carpeting.

'We have already taken this issue with local lawmakers and district administration but no to avail and drivers and motorists suffering a lot and patients couldn't be taken to hospitals because bid ditches at centre of road,' said Mr Khan adding, 'If our demands of re-carpeting this main artery is not met we would be left with no other...
