Mansehra LG representatives set to take oath tomorrow.

MANSEHRA -- The elected local government representatives in five tehsils of Mansehra district will take oath of their respective offices here on Tuesday (tomorrow).

The village, neighbourhood and tehsil councils' chairmen and councillors in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were elected in the second phase of the local government elections had taken oath of their respective offices on June 20.

However, in Mansehra district the oath-taking ceremonies couldn't be held as the returning officers were either on leave or transferred to other districts.

According to a notification issued on Sunday by the Provincial Election Commission, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three officers were nominated to administer the oath to the village, neighbourhood and tehsil councils' mayors, chairmen and councillors on June 28 (Tuesday).

These councillors and chairmen were elected in second phase of polls

Mohammad Ishaq Marwat, the Mansehra district election commissioner, would administer the oath to the LG representatives of Mansehra and Baffa-Pakhal tehsils.

Ahmad Junaid Wahidi, the election officer-I, Mansehra, would administer the oath to the local government representatives of Balakot tehsil, and Mohammad Hasrat Khan, assistant commissioner Oghi, would administer the oath to the LG representative of Oghi and Darband tehsils, according to the notification.

The tehsil municipal administrations of Mansehra, Balakot, Oghi, Baffa-Pakhal and Darband have finalised preparations for the oath-taking ceremonies at the village, neighbourhood and tehsil councils.
