Man, two children die in wall collapse.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Three members of a gypsy family died and another was injured when a wall constructed to support an earthen spur of the Chenab river collapsed on their makeshift house in Jhang on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 and Jhang police reported that the incident took place on a link road which leads from Jhang-Sargodha Road to Jhang-Bhakkar Road near Adda Aliabad. As a result of caving in of wall on their hut, four people were trapped under the debris.

Rescuers with the help of locals shifted them to the Jhang DHQ hospital where three of them succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased were identified as Malang and his two minor sons Shan and Mithu. Malang's wife Saima Bibi was admitted to the DHQ hospital.

DROWN: Selfie craze took life of a boy who drowned while his friend lost his life while trying to rescue him in Jhang on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said Muhammad Yaseen, 17, a resident of Athara Hazari, was taking his selfie with his mobile phone camera on the bank of Trimmu-Head Sindhnai canal at the bridge on Jhang-Bhakkar Road when he lost his balance and slipped into the canal. His friend Shahjahan (of Mohallah Ghousia, Jhang) also jumped into the canal to rescue him but drowned.

Rescue divers continued efforts to fish out the bodies a day after the incident.
