Man shot dead in armed clash in Chakri.

RAWALPINDI -- A 22-year-old crane operator was gunned down allegedly during an armed clash between the owners of two illegal private housing societies over land dispute at Chakri Road, informed sources on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Usman, resident of Kahuta. The incident took place within the limits of Police Station Chontra. A heavy contingent of police led by ASP Saddar Circle Saud Khan rushed to the scene and collected evidences besides recording statements of the eyewitnesses.

Meanwhile, management of a housing society put the dead body of Usman in the middle of Fawara Chowk and staged a protest demonstration against police for not filing case against accused.

An FIR was registered against some 18 accused including eight nominated later on orders of city police chief, sources said.

According to contents of FIR, Tariq Mehmood, Site Incharge of Blue World City, told police the armed guards of Abdullah City including Afzal Chotu, Tauseef, Rabnawaz, Saqib, Mirza Shehbaz and 10 other unknown persons launched armed attack on guards of Blue World City at 2am to...
