Man kills ex-wife over son's custody.

ISLAMABAD -- A man allegedly shot dead his ex-wife apparently over custody battle of 10-year-old son in Sector H-13 of capital, informed sources on Saturday.

The body of woman was moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for post-mortem where she was identified as Nosheen Bibi (28), they said. A murder case has been registered with Police Station (PS) Shams Colony against the alleged killer namely Dilshad, they said. According to details, Dilshad divorced his wife Nosheem Bibi while his son namely Farhan was living with mother as she obtained his custody through court.

They said the court had ordered visitation rights to father. Sources said the father wanted to get back his son, an effort resisted by Nosheen Bibi. On this, Dilshad murdered Nosheen and fled from the scene, they said. On information of murder case, Superintendent of Police (SP) Special Branch (SB) Liaquat Niazi, SHO PS Shamas Colony SI Aamir Abbas, experts of Forensic Lab and investigators of Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) visited crime scene and collected evidences besides recording the statements of eyewitness, according to a police spokesman.

He said police are making efforts to arrest the killer after filing a murder case against him.
