Man killed, another injured over land dispute in Bani Gala.

ISLAMABAD -- A man was killed while another wounded critically during an armed clash between two parties over a land dispute in Maloot area in Banigala, informed sources on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Chaudhry Gulbaz alias Shamas and injured as Naseer Shah, they said.

The family of victim protested against police and the accused party by placing dead body in the middle of the road at Rawal Dam Chowk. High ups of Islamabad police including SSP Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanvir and SP City Umer Khan reached at the spot and assured the protestors to arrest the accused.

According to details, the locals namely Chaudhry Gulbaz, Naseer Shah, Malik Tahir Khan and Raja Farooq are associated with property business and used to purchase land for a politician of the ruling party, who owns a private housing society in the area. They said two parties-Numberdar Sabeel group and Chaudhry Gulbaz group- had purchased some 900 kanals of land.

They said the both parties were present on their land when a clash occurred at midnight.

They said Numberdar Sabeel, Malik Tahir Khan and their armed goons opened indiscriminate firing on opponents and killed Chaudhry Gulbaz and injured Naseer Shah. Victim families alerted police which rushed to the scene. However, Sabeel and accomplices kept firing on opponents. Later, the goons managed to escape from the scene.

The locals put the body at Rawal Dam Chowk and staged a protest against police for their failure in arresting the accused, sources said.
