Man, son held for murder of boy by kite string.

KARACHI -- Police on Sunday registered a murder case and arrested two persons in connection with the death of a minor boy whose throat was slit by a kite string in Nazimabad-2 a day earlier.

The Gulbahar police said that four-year-old Sufiyan was travelling on a motorbike with his parents when the kite string claimed his life. He died while being taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Additional Police Surgeon Muhammad Saleem also confirmed that the boy was brought dead to the hospital.

The murder case was registered on a complaint of the victim's father, Mohammed Sikander, against a boy, Muzammil, and his father, Mansoor, under sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Both of the suspects were arrested.

Meanwhile, city police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon took notice of the incident and directed the police to take action against not only the manufactures and sellers of kites but also against those owners whose roofs was being used for kite flying.

SSP-Central Arif Aslam Rao suspended Gulbahar SHO Inspector Mansoor Ahmed for negligence and demoted him.
