Man gets jail for theft in Bajaur.

KHAR -- In its first-ever verdict, the recently-established model court on Monday sentenced a man to one year in jail in a theft case here.

The verdict was given by Gulzarullah, the trial magistrate of a model criminal trial court on the final day of the hearing which lasted for several weeks.

The trial magistrate in his judgment sentenced Gulat Khan to one year imprisonment, while acquitting three others giving them benefit of the doubt in the theft case.

It was the first verdict of the model courts in Bajaur tribal district, which were established in August with the aim to provide speedy justice to the people.

The model courts comprising two judges, Dr Qazia Attaullah and Gulzarulalh, were set up at the Khar Judicial Complex on the directives of CJP.
