Man found shot dead in Clifton.

KARACHI -- A man was found shot dead in Clifton on Sunday, police said.

They added that the body of the man identified as Siddique, 44, with bullet wounds, was found outside the Umar Sharif Park in Block-2.

Circumstantial evidence suggested that he was gunned down somewhere else and later on the killers threw his body there early in the morning, said South SSP Sheeraz Nazeer.

No spent bullet casing was found at the crime scene while the body also bore torture marks, he added.

A single bullet hit him in the temple, said Dr Seemin Jamali, executive director of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where the body was taken to fulfil legal formalities.

The victim was a resident of Shirin Jinnah Colony and involved in sale of used tyres. His family has been traced.

The SSP Nazeer claimed that the police had got significant clues as to possible motive and identity of the killers and that the suspects would be arrested soon.

The police ruled out the possibility of targeted killing and hinted that the murder might be related to the victim's some personal activities. He suggested that it may not be advisable at his stage to share such information with the media.
