Man allegedly burnt by son also dies.

RAWALPINDI -- A 68-year-old man who was burnt along with his wife allegedly by their son on June 9 died at the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) a week after the death of his wife.

The incident had occurred in the family's house located at Ashraf Colony in Dhamial over a domestic dispute.

Shabbir Ahmed and his wife Riffat Bibi, in her 60s, were admitted to the HFH with 80 to 85 per cent burn injuries where the woman died the following day.

The couple was doused in petrol reportedly by their eldest son in their sleep at night.

On the other hand, the suspect identified as Mohammad Wasim was sent to jail after completion of his remand.

'I will never visit him in the jail as he does not deserve any sympathy,' Ahsan Shahzad, the younger brother of the suspect, told Dawn.

He said his father who died on Friday continued talking with him and was looking in good health but was complaining of trouble in his body before he died.

When asked whether any public representatives or senior police officer had visited him to condole the death of his parents and offer any help, he replied in the negative.
