Magistrate orders examination of theft accused to determine gender.

LAHORE -- A judicial magistrate in Multan on Monday ordered medical examination of an accused in a theft case to determine his gender as he claimed to have become a woman following a surgery.

Old Kotwali police registered a theft case against an unidentified suspect for stealing Rs235,000 from a shop near Chungi No 9 on Nov 6.

The CCTV footage of the shop also captured thief who, was later identified as Khalid. The police arrested the suspect three days ago and started investigation.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the theft.

According to police, the suspect borrowed motorcycle from a worker of the shop. They said as the key ring also contained the shop keys, the suspect got them duplicated and used the same to steal the amount from the shop.
