Magistrate, approver summoned in Khwajas' case.

LAHORE -- An accountability court on Monday summoned a judicial magistrate to testify in Paragon City scam as he recorded confessional statement of an approver against the prime suspects former railways minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq and his brother former provincial minister Khwaja Salman Rafiq.

The court also summoned the approver again as he did not appear on Monday due to bad health.

The court adjourned hearing till Jan 6 due to unavailability of the defence counsel.

The lawyers of the Khwaja brothers were busy at the Supreme Court, Islamabad, for hearing of their bail petitions.

The NAB accused the Khwaja brothers of wrongfully gaining Rs18.2 million approximately from M/s Paragon City (pvt) Limited in their bank accounts. It said the Khwaja brothers through their 'benamidars' and with the abettment of former MPA Qaiser Amin Butt and Nadeem Zia established a housing project in the name of Air Avenue.
