M-4's Abdul Hakeem stretch to open on 27th, finally.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Finally the National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced that the 31-km portion of M-4 between Abdul Hakeen and Khanewal will be made operational on Oct 27.

An NHA official told this correspondent on Thursday that Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi would inaugurate it in a function at Shamkot interchange near Khanewal at 12pm.

After its inauguration, 286-km M-4 (Pindi Bhattian-Multan) will be used by motorists. In 2003, M-4's Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad section was opened for traffic. Its Faisalabad-Gojra portion was operationalised in 2015 and Gojra-Toba-Shorkot stretch was made operative in February 2019. The Shorkot-Abdul Hakeem portion was opened in April 2019 while the Multan-Khanewal stretch was already operative since 2015.
