LRF, Save the Children expedite relief operations in Sanghar.

SANGHAR -- Save the Children and Legal Rights Forum (LRF) jointly launched a flood relief operation in Sanghar district followed by their successful relief operation in Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Dadu. The deserving flood affected families were handed over the relief items in village Muhammad Suleman Rajput and Qabil Bhabro of UC Al-Mansoor. The humanitarian aid distributions were attended by Muhammad Khuram Gondal, Country Director, Save the Children, Muhammad Hassan Qaiser, Senior Regional Operations Adviser Humanitarian at Save the Children, Usman Aslam, Director Communications and Government Liaison at Save the Children, Malik Tahir Iqbal, CEO of LRF, Imran Bhand, Manager LRF and other area notables. The recent heavy monsoon rains and subsequent floods have left thousands homeless and millions more have been affected in Sindh province. Save the Children and LRF started the relief operation in Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Dadu during August which has now been accelerated. LRF team will distribute 1,330 relief items in one tehsil, 2 UCs and 4 villages to help 2,500 beneficiaries in Sanghar district. The LRF team will soon establish Temporary Learning Centers (TLCs) by setting up 30 tent schools in much needed villages for the resumption of education for 900 boys and 550 girls. The tent frame...
