Locusts give sleepless nights to farmers.

MUZAFFARGARH -- Swarms of locusts continue to wreak havoc on fields and agriculture officials have failed to address the issue.

Owners of mango orchards and cotton farmers claim that during the last two days of Eid swarm of locusts had attacked the harvest. The cost of the cotton seeds and losses to crops had brought untold miseries to the farmers.

An official said locusts destroy green leaf of plants and they could be tackled only through drumbeat.
