LHC to hear second petition filed by Maryam Nawaz tomorrow for removal of her name from ECL.

LAHORE -- Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear the second petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif tomorrow (Monday) for removal of her name from Exit Control List (ECL). Two-member LHC bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi will hear the petition of Maryam Nawaz.

Interior ministry, DG FIA, Chairman NAB and others have been made party in the application.

It is said in the petition that the court had directed the federal government to make decision removal of her name from the ECL; however the federal government has not made any decision on her application during the given time. Maryam Nawaz in her petition said that her father is ill and his condition is critical and being the daughter it is her duty to inquire after the health of her father. Maryam Nawaz said that till the final decision on her petition she should be allowed to go abroad one time permission for six weeks.

Earlier on Saturday, Maryam Nawaz moved a fresh plea in the Lahore High Court (LHC) requesting it to direct the federal government to strike her name off the no-fly list so she can fly abroad.

Maryam through her lawyers Khawaja Amjad Pervez and Azam Nazeer Tarar moved the petition, complaining that this court had earlier directed the government to decide on removal of her name from the Exit Control List within seven days but it had not yet made any decision in this regard, due to which she is unable to travel abroad.
