LGH urology dept conducts surgeries with latest techniques.

LAHORE -- Doctors at the urology department of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) have introduced a procedure with new technique 'no cut no stitch' for stones, prostate gland and other urological problems, equipping the facility with the latest technology in Punjab where patients will undergo operations in future with almost no pain and less hospitalisation period.

The successful procedures are performed with new technology by a team of senior doctors under the supervision of Urology Department head Prof Dr Muhammad Nazir.

Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar said on Friday it was a big achievement and honour for the institute as well as the medics that the LGH had started this latest technology for the patients.

'This technique is being practiced in urology department of the Lahore General Hospital where kidney and heart patients can also benefit from the same procedure,' Mr Zafar said.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of four new dialysis machines worth over Rs6 million that were donated by the philanthropists to the LGH for kidney treatment. The total number of donated dialysis machines at the LGH has increased to 32, he said.

'The philanthropists who donate medical equipment and machinery are the pride and identity of Pakistani society and it is commendable that even today the dear homeland is rich with such personalities who spend in the way of Allah Almighty and donate millions of rupees trusting the hospital...
