Lewis, Prendergast shine as Ireland down Pakistan in first Twenty20.

LAHORE -- The Ireland women's cricket team beat Pakistan by six wickets in the opening match of the three-match Twenty20 International series here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors, who were coming into the T20 series after a 3-0 drubbing in the ODIs, were boosted by a partnership between batters Gaby Lewis and Orla Prendergast, which saw Ireland chase down a 136-run target with an over to spare.

Lewis and Prendergast combined for a second-wicket collaboration of 55 runs. Lewis smashed an unbeaten 69 off 54 balls with the help of nine boundaries while Prendergast made a 25-ball 39 to add to her three wickets with the ball.
